First Round Continues

It's time for the next group of episodes to compete in the opening round. Today we have 6 versus 11 episodes and the 5 versus 12 group of match-ups.

Here we see Hurley's reaction to Jack trying to set Boone's broken leg in the 12th seeded episode Do No Harm.

In the episodes flashback Jack and Christian discuss Jack's upcoming wedding to Sarah.

It will take on the 5th seeded episode One Of Us. Juliette's flashback showed us how she ended up on the island.

While Claire became sick it seemed apparent that Juliette was the only one capable of curing her due to a plan that was concocted between her and Ethan.

Mikhail or "Patchy" as he was better known, shows up for the first time during Enter 77 a 12 seed. He claimed to be the last living member of the Dharma Initiative.

While Sayid was getting sewn up by Patchy Locke discovered a computer where he was able to play a game of chess. Upon winning (all the while Sayid and Kate were having it out with Patchy who turned out to be an other) Locke discovered yet another message from Marvin Candle.

Elsewhere on the island, Hurley beats Sawyer at a game of ping pong which causes Sawyer to not be able to call anyone by their nicknames for a week. He tells Hurley that he was hustled since Hurley has lots of practice at ping pong. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Enter_77

Taking on Enter 77 will be Dr. Linus a 5 seed from season 6. In the flash sideways time Ben is a high school teacher where Locke is a substitute. Along with Arzt the three discuss how the school would be better is Ben was the principal.

Elsewhere on the island Richard goes to the Black Rock to try and kill himself which doesn't work as Jack shows him they aren't meant to die.

Ilana allows Ben to join her group after she makes him begin to dig his own grave that is. At the end of the episode Widmore arrives by submarine to the island. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Dr_Linus

The opponent is the 12th seed The Beginning Of The End. Desmond gets back from the Looking Glass station with bad news about Charlie.

In the first flash forward episode we see that Hurley makes it off of the island, back in the mental institute and is having visions. Charlie's ghost tries to convince him that he needs to go back to the island.

Arriving on the island is Daniel Faraday. A scientist who tells Jack and Kate that getting the survivors off of the island isn't his first priority. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Beginning_of_the_End

In the 5th seeded episode The Substitute, The Man In Black goes to recruit Sawyer who is at the barracks dousing his sorrow in some alcohol.

Meanwhile in the flash sideways, Locke meets Hurley who is the owner of the box company Locke gets fired from. Hurley sends him to a temp agency where Rose gets him a job as a substitute teacher at a high school. Coincidentally also teaching at this high school is Ben Linus.

The Man In Black takes Sawyer to a cave where he shows him the names of the survivors. Next to the names are the numbers. The MIB tells Sawyer that Jacob put the names there and that they are all candidates for being the next protector of the island. The first entrant in the next pairing is Maternity Leave from season 2. Claire, along with Kate and Danielle Rousseau go to look for more information as to where Claire was taken when Ethan kidnapped her.

We see Mr. Friendly without his bear and tattered clothes as later we also see Kate find a box of fake beards and theatrical glue. Claire remembers the teenage girl that helped her escape the medical hatch and Danielle believes it to be her daughter.

Back inside the hatch, Mr. Eko asks to see "Henry Gale" who they are holding hostage. He goes in to tell him how he killed two men during his first night on the island. Going against it will be a 5th seed from season 6 titled The Candidate. Here we see everyone getting ready to board the submarine. Not everyone ends up getting on.

And of those that get on, not all of them get off after the MIB blows up the sub. Jin, Sun, and Sayid all died after the explosion.

In the flash sideways, Jack operates on Locke after he was run down by Desmond. Jack tries convince Locke to allow him to operate on his damaged spine but Locke refuses. We also saw Jin come to the hospital to visit his wife who was recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Moving on to the six versus the eleven seeds our first episode is an 11 seed - Because You Left. Let the time jumping weirdness begin. But first we see a picture of the pocket of energy that the Dharma Initiative is trying to drill into. On the photo we can see what looks like the frozen donkey wheel that Ben used to move the island.

More time travel weirdness included Locke seeing the drug plane with all of the heroin filled Virgin Mary statues aboard crash onto the island.

Faraday, going against his own advice, tries to change the future by giving Desmond a message telling him to go talk to a woman at Oxford. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Because_you_left

The opponent will be Dead Is Dead; a six seed from the sixth season. We see the relationship developments and issues between Ben and Charles Widmore. Issues that end up getting Widmore banished from the island.

After Ben leaves the island he finds Penny and Desmond's yacht and in an effort to even the score for Alex's death Ben goes to kill Penny. Desmond, after Ben shots him is able to stop him and then beat the everliving hell out of him. It is worth mentioning that it did appear that after Ben saw little Charlie Hume that Ben seemed to have a change of heart.

Meanwhile in current time on the island, Ben is judged by the smoke monster who takes the form of Alex. Ben is very surprised that even though getting a stern warning, the smoke monster allowed him to live. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Is_Dead

In the flash-forward of the 11th seeded The Economist Sayid is off of the island and killing people.

While on the island Daniel Faraday works on experiments that prove the island is traveling through time differently that the rest of the world.

The opponent for this battle will be the season finale of season 5 titled The Incident. We meet Jacob and The MIB who have a discussion at the base of the statue. The statue ends up being of the Egyptian Goddess Tawaret. During the flashbacks we see that Jacob had been watching some of the losties all of their lives.

Jack follows through with Faraday's idea that blowing up the pocket of energy will cause a flux in time where Oceanic 815 never crashed on the island.

Jack's plan doesn't seem to work as the pocket is drilled into before the bomb goes off. The magnetism manages to pull Juliette down into the shaft which almost kills her. At the bottom of the shaft Juliette uses a rock to set off the bomb. Or does she? http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_incident

Cabin Fever is the 11th seeded episode from the fourth season featuring more of the back story of John Locke. Locke meets Horace in a dream who tells him in order for him to find Jacob he will have to find Horace.

During the flash backs we see that Richard Alpert has known of John Locke for quite a while and has been keeping an eye on him.

After Locke, along with Hurley and Ben fins Jacob's cabin, Hurley shares a candy bar with Ben. Inside of the cabin we see Christian Shephard tell Locke he speaks for Jacob. Claire is in the cabin as well. Christian tells Locke that Claire is where she needs to be. Cabin Fever will take on the 6th seeded Follow The Leader. Pierre Chang gets suspicious of Hurley and questions him about being from the future. Hurley fails the test and admits they are from the future.

With some convincing, Pierre Chang gets the Dharma Initiative to begin evacuating the island of all women and children due to the coming accident which Hurley warns him is going to happen at the Swan construction site. This causes Miles to look at his father in a different light now knowing he didn't abandon him and his mother after all.

Meanwhile in current day time on the island, Locke continues to lead his group the the base of the statue where he is hoping to find Jacob. Locke, who we didn't know was actually the MIB at the time, tells Ben that once inside of the base of the statue he is going to kill Jacob. The final match up for this post begins with the 11th seeded Jughead. The group jumping through time make a stop in the 1950's where they meet a young blond girl other named Ellie. Faraday gets Ellie to tell him about the radioactive war head that happens to be leaking.

She takes Daniel to see the bomb named Jughead. There he tells her that the others need to bury the warhead in concrete so the leaking radiation will not harm them or the environment.

At the others camp Locke meets Richard Alpert for the first time. He also discovers that Cunningham's real name is Charles Widmore. The very young Charles Widmore. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Jughead

It will be going up against the 6th seeded Confirmed Dead. Daniel Faraday cries as he watches the footage of Oceanic 815 being discovered at the bottom of the ocean. We also find out that Frank Lapidus was supposed to be the pilot of Oceanic 815.

Miles, another person from the freighter, is able to speak to spirits. He speaks to the ghost of a woman's grandson who is stuck in his grandmothers house. He gets the ghost to tell him where he had hid some money in the house before his death. Miles takes the money and leaves after telling the grandmother that her grandson is now at peace.

After Miles realizes that Juliette is a "native" and was not on Oceanic 815 he asks her where "he" is. He shows her a photo of Ben who in the picture is clearly off of the island.
