Stop Lurking Day

While things work themselves out here, I wanted to take the opportunity to officially declare a special occasion. Stop Lurking Day which could turn out to be like a week, here on the site. Take the time to introduce yourself, make a comment, a question, even a critique. Hell, even if you want to tell me to go take a jump in the lake, you can do that as well. Even though I don't allow anonymous comments you can still make a Google account which is real easy to do (all you need is an email address) you don't need a blog or even a profile. Just register an email, pick a name, and start posting comments. This is a "flame free" blog. No comments are ever broiled, flamed, or fried. Carry on, that is all.

"This is usually the part when people start screaming." - Sylar

I'm sorry to announce that all connections with this blog to the television show LOST has been discontinued until further notice. I have also been informed that I must cease with all current and future Intel on the show or face further actions by a currently unknown entity that may or may not have connections to the show as well as it's producers and possibly ABC and/or it's affiliates as well. As further developments continue to unfold I will be sure to keep this blog informed. Until then all I can say is I must move on to another endeavor.

I have decided that the new endeavor will involve a television show that some people have emailed me about and questioned why I have not addressed previously. Circumstances have now led to me being able to discuss this show seeing as how I have a little bit of down time with my usual subject. The show I am talking about is HEROES which is almost if not as good as the show I usually blog about. HEROES was created by Tim Kring who is an old film school buddy of J.J. Abrahms. Oh, hope I'm allowed to say that. The two have stated that if they could, they would love to cross their two series over to one another. Seeing as how HEROES is on NBC and the other is not, makes it nearly impossible but a great idea nonetheless.

For those of you that do not know much about the show, the seedy looking guy pictured above is Gabirel or better known as "Sylar". As one of the main characters as well as the shows leading bad guy, it would only figure that he is also one of my favorite characters on the show. Look for him playing a young Spock in the new Star Trek movie that J.J. Abrahms is currently working on. Jeez, I guess I'm allowed to mention that too, one can never be too certain these days. In the shows storyline most of the characters have some sort of superhuman ability. Sylar, the main antagonist, and a serial killer, uses his ability to kill others with abilities and is then able to consume their power. It is vaguely alluded to that the way he does this is to eat their brains but it was recently changed to that he uses his adaptability to analyze a brains function that gives the power and then adapts his own brain to create the power. The act of taking off the top of the head in the process of analyzing the brain is usually what kills his victims. He also usually gets most of the shows really good quotes.

This man is Noah Bennet. Unlike most of the characters, he does not have any powers. At first glance, Noah Bennet appears to be an ordinary businessman who works at the Primatech Paper Company and lives in Odessa, Texas, with his wife and two children. However, he and his associates have actually traveled the world for a number of years investigating superhuman phenomena. Bennet claims that he assists them in learning to use their powers, although there are sometimes unintended consequences, such as losing his perfect vision. The loss of his perfect vision is what gives the character his nickname in the show "HRG" or horn rimmed glasses. This is the name he was given before we discovered his name. His true agenda and overall affiliation are still mysterious. In response to Matt Parkman's inquiries as to whether he works for the FBI or the CIA, Bennet said he doesn't work for "any organization that has initials." Matt Parkman is a New York City police officer and is a telepath. Parkman is played by actor Greg Grunberg, hmmm, can you think of what part he might have played before he took this role? Yes, he was the pilot of Oceaninc 815. Do I have to add a disclaimer for that too?

Bennet is played by actor Jack Coleman, who I have been a big fan of for years. From his early days as Steve Carrington on Dynasty (where he played one of the first gay characters on television in) in 1982. To his short stint on a show called Nightmare Cafe in 1992 and his role in Steven King's Kingdom Hospital series which aired in 2004. He is also the great-great-great-great nephew of Benjamin Franklin.

Noah Bennet's daughter Claire, played by jail bait turned hotty actress Hayden Panettiere, is a cheerleader with the power of rapid cellular regeneration. In lay mans terms that means she can heal real fast. Claire is not Bennet's biological daughter. Bennet adopted Claire as a baby after he thought her mother had died in a fire that she caused with her pyrokinesis ability. Sylar recently acquired Claire's healing abilities but in the process did not kill her. When Claire asked him why he didn't kill her he answers her "Even if I wanted to, I couldn't kill you Clare. You can't die. And now apparently I can't either.". So not only did he not kill her it seems he didn't want to alluding to the fact that possibly Sylar may not be as bad as once thought. After all it was the first season that the series used the catch phrase "Save the cheerleader. Save the world." Which they did, but the world still needs saving.

And so might this blog.

"What are you gonna do, beam us up?"

The filming for the new season of LOST is well under way. If all of the incoming recon is correct, it would infer that they are currently filming in the neighbourhood of episode 3. There are some really cool photos that I found from some folks that live on the big island.

Here is the lot that the crew keeps all of the LOST vehicles wrangled in:

Check it out, 3 different DHARMA vans.

The next picture is of a crew member taking apart a window set for Simon's Butcher Shop. Now who do we know that had a connection to a butcher shop? Yeah, Charlie's father was a butcher and I think his name was Simon. Will we be seeing another Charlie episode this season?

The last picture, I need to say a few things first. I've viewed many of the episodes of LOST multiple times looking for clues, hints, anything that might tell me something more than I already know. Recently, LOST began airing in syndication on cable channel G4. I happened to catch the very beginning of the Pilot episode again for something like the fifth or sixth time. TPTB have said there is a huge clue in the Pilot episode. Not really saying what the clue is or exactly what the clue reveals just that one is there. While watching the episode I noticed something I never did before.

After Jack runs to the crash scene, aside from all the extras (red shirts) we see the following people in this order: Charlie walking around looking real dazed and/or high, Jin screaming in Korean, looking for Sun I would imagine (Why wasn't she right next to him? Another reason why this is the '06 going back to the island in my theory, just what number trip is this I'm not sure yet), Michael yelling for Walt (again, why are two people who were sitting next to each other on the plane not near each other after the crash? I know it was a plane crash but c'mon already!) Then we see Shannon screaming and basically just being Shannon. Next is Locke, who helps pull the man out from under the wreckage. Then we see Claire yelling for help, as Jack goes to help Claire he notices Boone giving CPR to Rose. Then Hurley appears and Jack asks him to watch over Claire. After all of this, Jack then gets a sewing kit and goes off on his own to tend to his wounds which is when Kate wanders out of the jungle and into the series. My recap of the first few minutes of LOST will end there.

Excluding Jack, the first characters we see, up until the moment Jack meets Kate, who I also have not included in this, which is my own list, if you will, in order are:

Charlie
Jin
Michael
Shannon
Locke
Claire
Boone
Rose
Hurley

So what does all this mean? Charlie = dead Michael = dead Shannon = dead Locke = dead (at the end of season 4 it looks like) Boone = Dead. Lets go back to Claire for a moment, after watching this and rethinking all of my theories in the past, I now say Claire is dead and the Claire we saw in the cabin with Christian at the end of last season is a ghost Claire. Moving on to Rose, Rose is very much alive on the island at the end of last season or at least up until the moment when the island disappears. She's still alive because in essence, as far as the island is concerned, she already died once. You don't give CPR to someone who is alive, so Rose = dead (for a few minutes at least, but not so much now) Jin, we still don't know about, even though we've seen his grave, but I also know he was spotted in Hawaii filming some scenes for this season. All that equals, in my minds eye at least, Jin = dead. Now the last person on the list, Hurley, an 'O6-er. Obviously alive both at the end of last season as well as the beginning of this upcoming season five. TPTB have already hinted towards the fact that at least one of the 'O6 may not live long enough to make it back to the island. Initially, I picked Sayid to be the one who will die in the process of getting the rest of the 'O6 back to the island. Hey, it could happen, I've come to grips with all of the deaths that have happened or could happen. Even Sawyer's, but we know that's not happening. So that leaves me with one other person that may meet their doom before the 'O6 get back to the island:

This is a picture Jorge Garcia took with a local who was around during the filming of episodes 1 and 2 for season 5. Looks like Hurley has a little blood on him, would you say? Looks like a possible gunshot wound I would definitely say. BTW, check out the stunt double right behind Jorge. Before anyone asks, no the guy that was in the picture with Jorge before I cropped him out is not giving "the finger", he's giving the "hang loose" hand sign that's very popular in Hawaii and elsewhere.

So I'm predicting it today, Hurley = dead before the end of season 5. I know there will be people who say I'm wrong, but if I predicted Charlie's death in season two I would have been told I was crazy. Or Michael's at the end of season 3 for that matter.

"Good thing I'm traveling with my doctor then, huh?"

OK, here is the first teaser for the new season of LOST follow this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCVCzplSa6A

For some reason it's not linking right so just copy and paste.

and read along with me and my theories on the video.

The beginning is a little dumb but it's the setup for the real video. The fat kid is an actor playing a part. This was something that was shown not shown at the Comic Con in San Diego but was filmed there and is considered a viral video but it is fodder (meaning it fits in with the LOST story. About one minute in the real video begins. About 1:46 in try and pause it to get a good view of what looks like the jungle on the island. 30 years in the future? About 2:10 we see that Pierre still has both arms. 2:20 violent purge mentioned. 2:30 flexes his arm like he knows he is going to loose it. 2:36 voice heard saying "none of that matters" sounds like Jack's voice possibly. 2:38 second voice says :doesn't matter just get to it" sounds like Daniel Faraday. Also in all of that a "credible source" or something like that is mentioned by Chang. 2:58 - "DHARMA initiative must be reconstituted". 3:08 "time is not of the essence, it is the essence." 3:24 voice says "they are never going to see this" 3:35 video transmission ends and the comic con can be seen again and the person video taping the transmission is "caught and chased".

It's going to be a hell of a season 5!

"You got a spot of nothing on your chin there."

SPOILER ALERT: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS AND/OR RUMORS FOR THE 5TH SEASON

Filming for the new season started August 17th so as you should expect I have some info to pass on to you.

As some people have guessed I did give a spoiler out already for the new season. A few posts ago was titled Because You Left which is the title of the first episode of the new season. Because You Left , according to TPTB, deals with several of the Oceanic Six coming to grips with their need to return to the island but on their own terms. If true, this means season five will get right down to it and do away with the issues of Jack 'convincing' Kate to return. In this sense the statement Because You Left deals with not a specific set of circumstances, but multiple character's circumstances.

Daniel Dae Kim spotted in Hawaii spoke briefly about his role in the new season and said that he is back for filming and that he and Matthew Fox were going to be the first to shoot scenes for this upcoming season. He also said that he has been told although he will not be as prominent this season when he does feature it will be at "pivotal points in the story". Could we have a repeat of last seasons premiere with Charlie coming back from the dead?

House the film crew was spotted filming in and around. Could be a new house we have not seen before or is this the outside of Kate's off island house?

Looks like we could get a lot of Richard this season since it is rumored that Nestor Carbonell has signed on for a full season.

Depending on how ABC’s Wednesday and Thursday night lineups do in the fall, we could be seeing LOST back on Wednesday nights. Nothing is confirmed and probably won’t be until at least around Thanksgiving or even later. If it does happen, then premier date for the new season is slated to be February 4th.

At the Sand Diego Comic Con in July TPTB gave the following info:

The whole notion of "flashbacks" and "flash-forwards" will be reinvented, suggesting that upcoming episodes will span multiple time periods and perspectives. "When season five starts, you won't know when or where you are. And the way we tell stories will be different too. Also we have the guy who makes the whooshing sound for us and we would not want to put him out of work."

The nameless extras in the Zodiac boat with Farraday, stranded with the island gone, may be toast, but "things are looking up" for Farraday himself. Faraday's notebook will play a prominent role this season.

We'll finally get Rousseau's back-story, but Darlton cautioned that it would be wrong to call it a "flashback" episode.

Jack's Bronco looks to be in the same place it was for the outside courtroom scenes for Eggtown. Does it not?

More from TPTB:

The island did not travel when the hatch imploded, but something did happen.

Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show.

The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show, and we'll see more interesting permutations of it over the next two seasons. And Kate will see Sawyer again.

There will be some more Libby info this season (yeah right we’ve all heard this one before!)

Drug plane or a new one on the island?

Looks like we will have to wait until episode 3 to see any Locke or Richard stuff. In the past few days Terry O’Quinn and Nestor Carbonell were seen filming. During the filming Locke was seen high up in a banyan tree, and get this another small plane (similar to the Nigerian drug plane) was seen crashed on the island. Looks like on the plane is a new villain for this season. All of this is still considered rumor I have to remind you but it is also said that Locke gets shot in the thigh. No word on who does the shooting.

The actors that play Sawyer, Juliet, Rose, Bernard, Charlotte and Miles have all been spotted filming scenes, no word on what episode it is for.

The previous picture was taken outside of a Hawaiian hotel. The scene being shot featured Hurley and Sayid seemingly to take place after they leave the mental institute at the end of last season. Check out the pile of boxes on the ground. Somebody taking a plunge a few stories up?

There are a couple props added for this season and they are huge. The LOST producers are looking for two ships, both need to be seaworthy. The main one they wanted was a big black ominous looking ship, but the ship company didn't have anything that was even remotely similar to what they described. However, they booked another ship and it's going to be a chase ship which goes after the big black one. The chase ship is the oldest ship in the marina and it looks like it's from the 1500's. Do you know why they would want boats that looked to be several hundred years old? BLACK ROCK flashback?!?!

One of the biggest stories so far is the return of Michelle Rodriguez. That’s right Ana Lucia is slated to return for the show for at least one episode. Sources say it is for the second episode of the season, this is where it gets interesting since Cheech Marin is also scheduled to be a guest star in the second episode of the new season. Looks like Hurley will be seeing some new ghosts. Or there could be other explanations but I’m leaning towards a Hurley episode for the second episode of the new season.

That's all for now.

The Countdown Begins!

"I ain't gonna 'give me' you nothing."

It's official, so I can announce that from here on out this blog will be only for LOST related posts. If you want to read other thoughts that are going on in my head and events going on go to this site:
http://nameyourowndamnblog.blogspot.com/

it's a new blog that I have been invited (by my friend Russel) to help moderate and post on. In a world as technologically advance as we are today, he still is a little rough around the edges when it comes to being computer savvy. Especially if it doesn't involve porn or cars. So for the Sawyer quotes, episode recaps, season reviews, and spoilers and rumors about LOST you can still come here but for fart jokes, movie lists, and any and everything else go to the new blog. Two blogs??? Can I do it? Will I do it? Well, at least Russel will be posting over on the new one as well. That might not be such a good thing though. I won't ruin anything for you, I'll just let you read some of his posts. When he actually adds some that is. Please to enjoy

Because You Left

BRAHMA

If the red slayer think he slays,
Or if the slain think he is slain,
They know not well the subtle ways
I keep, and pass, and turn again.

Far or forgot to me is near;
Shadow and sunlight are the same;
The vanish'd gods to me appear;
And one to me are shame and fame.

They reckon ill who leave me out;
When me they fly, I am the wings;
I am the doubter and the doubt,
And I the hymn the Brahmin sings.

The strong gods pine for my abode,
And pine in vain the sacred Seven;
But thou, meek lover of the good!
Find me, and turn thy back on heaven.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

"Yeah it did. Right before it crapped gold."

LIVE TOGETHER, DIE ALONE

Jack, Sayid, and Sawyer swim out to the boat and find a very drunk Desmond below deck. Desmond tells Jack about his two week journey. Desmond says the island is a “bloody snow globe” because he could not sail away from the island.

Flashbacks center on Desmond, the first time a non crash survivor is featured. We never find out exactly why Desmond was in jail or dishonorably discharged but the flashback begins with him being released from prison. The guard says that Desmond’s intentions of reading “Our Mutual Friend” right before he dies is a good idea, if you know when you are going to die. I found that an interesting statement. Maybe Desmond does know when he is going to die.

Widmore makes his first appearance and tries to buy off Desmond.

Sayid tells Jack the plan he has come up with involving Desmond's boat.

Eko is added to the list of people who say “You cannot tell me what to do.” after Locke tells him that he wants to see what happens when the button does not get pushed.

So exactly why were those four people on the list that Michael had to bring with him? Why did the others want those four specifically?

It would seem that Desmond knows something about the “hostiles” but nobody takes the time to ask him about it?

Desmond meets Libby and she gives him the boat. Is this meeting before or after her little stay in the mental institute? Who was Libby’s husband? His name was David that’s all we know. Couldn‘t have anything to do with Hurley‘s imaginary friend Dave could it? She says he got sick but how did he die? Libby’s story confirms that her full name is Elizabeth the boat is also named Elizabeth.

Sayid gets Jin and Sun’s help on the boat.

Hurley bird!

Michael realizes Jack may be on to him when he discovers that his gun doesn’t have any bullets in it.

Charlie finds Locke in the jungle crying and informs him that Desmond has returned.

Desmond tells Claire that the vaccine is for nothing, but is it really?

Penny does a lot of foreshadowing when she tells Desmond that with determination and a lot of money you can find anybody. She's right.

Locke’s interpretation of the Pearl orientation video is wrong.

Four toed statue, what’s up wid dat? Actually here are a couple theories. In keeping with the idea of Egypt (the mysterious hieroglyphics on the timer), the four toed statue could be that of the Egyptian god "Bes", half lion half dwarf. This could be possible considering lions only have four toes on their hind legs (the statue appearing to be standing). "Bes" just happens to be the protector of pregnant women, newborn babies and family, a somewhat re-occurring theme throughout LOST. Or, theory (B) - Part of the DHARMA Initiatives work was to create the fiction of an ancient civilization, and they created the foot as a false remnant of a statue.

As Desmond and Locke lock Eko out of the hatch, the flashback shows how Desmond got to the island. Inman, the man in Sayid’s flashbacks, is now on the island working for DHARMA. Who was Radzinski and why did he take pieces out of the film?

Jack forces Michael to come clean about everything and Jack tells the rest of the group that he would not have brought them out there if he didn’t have a plan.

Eko brings dynamite back to the hatch.

Kelvin works on the blast door map and he tells Desmond how Radzinski killed himself. He also tells Desmond he left the Army because men followed his orders. After he left the army he joined the DHARMA initiative. Then he tells Desmond about the failsafe key. “Turn the key and it all goes away.”

Sayid finds the bogus hatch and camp.

Jack’s group finds the pneumatic tube sticking out of the ground and a pile of notebooks. An extract, read by Kate, of one of the notebooks reads:

0400. S.R. moves Ping-Pong table again.

0415. Takes a shower. (Possible that “S.R.” is Radzinski? Or “Swan Resident”?)

This is proof enough for me that the hatch that is just a psychological experiment is in fact the Pearl, not the Swan, as Locke thinks.

The whispers return and there is those neat-o zappy things.

Desmond is suspicious when he spots the rip in Kelvin’s containment suit and follows him outside. Desmond realizes that there never was any danger in leaving the hatch without a containment suit. Then he sees his boat and Kelvin tells Desmond the plan to leave the island.

Desmond accidentally kills Kelvin then takes the failsafe key and hauls ass back to the hatch. Inside the hatch the timer has reached zero and the intercom announces “System Failure” as the hieroglyphics fill in the spots where the numbers were in the timer.

Everything goes ape shit for a few seconds before Desmond gets the numbers put into the computer. This also tells us that Ben was indeed lying to Locke when he told him he didn’t push the button

As Desmond looks over the printout from the Pearl hatch he notices that the day he didn’t push the button on time was the same day that the plane crashed on the island.

Kate tells Mr. Friendly that she knows the beards are fake. Ben shows up and tells Michael that they need to take care of business.

Desmond opens the blast doors after Locke trashes the computer and goes out to get the failsafe key. Desmond finds Penny’s letter inside “Our Mutual Friend”. In Desmond’s darkest hour, he was apparently ready to kill himself, John Locke ended up being his saving grace the night Boone died.

Desmond tells Locke that it’s all real. He says that he has to go blow up the dam and make it all go away. He leaves John with his trademark line, “See ya in another life brutha.”

As before, things once again go bananas inside the hatch. Eko tells Charlie to go back to the beach as Eko goes to look for Locke. Locke tells Eko he was wrong as the hatch continues to implode.

Desmond turns the failsafe key and the sky turns purple and there is the "noise".

Listen as Ben tells Michael that the others got more than they bargained for when Walt decided to join them. When did Walt “decide to join” the others? Ben tells Michael to follow a compass bearing of 325 to find rescue. He also tells Michael he will never be able to go back to the island even if he wanted to. He ends the conversation by telling Michael that the Others are the “good guys”.

The Others allow Hurley to go back to his camp so he can deliver the message that the survivors can never coming back to this side of the island.

Sawyer, Jack, and Kate get bags over their heads. It almost seemed that right before they put the bags over their heads that there might still be more to the plan Jack had talked about. Notice Jack’s little head nod. What was that all about? Was it his just trying to tell Kate it would be alright?

Claire and Charlie share a kiss as they reform their bond.

In a very snowy place, (like a snow globe) two Portuguese speaking men are playing a game of chess. There is a blip on their computer that shows the location of a magnetic anomaly.

One of the men makes a phone call to Penelope Widmore and tells her they think they found “it” as season two comes to a close.
