Ones And Twos

We have the eight top seeds against the eight biggest long-shots left so let's not wait any longer. Here's some 1's, 2's, 15's and 16's:

The long awaited story of Richard Alpert is told in Ab Aeterno a number 1 seed from the final season. Richard is accused of murder after accidentally killing the doctor when he tries to get medicine to save the life of his wife.

Richard is taken aboard a slave ship headed for the "new world". That slave ship just happens to be the Black Rock.

By episodes end we discover that Richard is indeed able to live forever and doesn't age thanks to a gift given to him by Jacob. Here we see the MIB break the bottle of wine that Jacob had used to represent the evil in the world. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ab_Aeterno

It's opponent will be 16th seeded Outlaws. A young Sawyer witnesses his parents death.

While in Sydney, Sawyer meets Christian Shephard in a bar. The two share a meaningful conversation over a few drinks.

Believing his old partner Hibbs, Sawyer kills the man he thinks is the original Sawyer. Turns out the man isn't the original Sawyer but a man Hibbs just wanted dead for an outstanding debt. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Outlaws

Our next pairing brings us the one seed Live Together Die Alone. The season 2 finale gave us some of Desmond's back story. Here we see him right after accidentally killing Kelvin which leads to him being too late to push the button.

In the current time-line, Locke believes that not pushing the button won't cause anything to happen. Something Desmond knows is incorrect as he is sure that Oceanic 815 crashed onto the island because he was late pushing the button. As a last resort Desmond uses the fail-safe key.

While elsewhere Michael leads the group of survivors right into an ambush. Along with Walt; Michael is allowed to leave the island. Hurley is sent back to the other survivors with a message to never come back there. And Kate gets felt up apparently. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Live_Together%2C_Die_Alone

It will be taking on a 16 seed from the first season Confidence Man. Kate tells Sawyer that she figured out the letter he has wasn't sent to him but rather was written by him.

Wanting an inhaler for Shannon who is having difficulty with her asthma condition. Sawyer denies them. Sayid and Jack try to get it from him the hard way.

In the flashback we discover that Sawyer is a con man with a heart of gold as he is not able to go through with a con that would have netted him a hefty amount of money because the couple he is conning have a young boy. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Confidence_Man

Desmond begins a strange trip while on-board the helicopter heading to the freighter. A number one seed The Constant. Desmond trades consciousness with himself from the past.

The problem is if he cannot make contact with his constant, he will eventually die like Minkowski did early on in the episode. Penny is his constant and he is able to call her on Christmas eve.

Daniel Faraday played a big part in Desmond making it through the ordeal. Turns out he had ulterior motives; he needed Desmond to stay around since Desmond was Daniel's constant. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Constant

Solitary has the unenviable task of taking on The Constant. This sixteen seed is a Sayid episode where we find him making a decision between his job and Nadia, his childhood sweetheart.

On the island, Sayid is captured by a woman named Danielle Rousseau. She tells him the story of how she came to the island.

Elsewhere Hurley makes a golf course. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Solitary

The final number one seed is the season three finale Through The Looking Glass. Here we see Hurley, inside of a Dharma van, discussing strategy on how to save Sayid, Jin, and Bernard who are being held captive at the beach camp.

Down at the Looking Glass station Charlie is able to make contact with Penny Widmore and asks her about the freighter. She tells him she doesn't know anything about the freighter.

In the first ever flash forward we see Jack and Kate discuss leaving the island. The quote "We have to go back!" may be Jack's most memorable line. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Through_the_Looking_Glass

And it will be taking on the 16th seed Tabula Rasa. Jack tries to save the marshal's life. While doing so Jack finds out that Kate is a fugitive. Sawyer tries to put the marshal out of his misery but ends up only making it worse. Jack ends up being the one to do it.

Afterward, Jack tells Kate that they all have a clean slate and that they were all reborn the minute the plane crashed on the island.

At the end of the episode Locke uses a dog whistle he whittled himself to find Vincent and then allowed Michael to return the dog to Walt. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Tabula_Rasa

We see how Ben came to be on the island during the flashback in The Man Behind The Curtain. We see Ben meeting Richard Alpert for the first time as well. What we don't see is Jacob.

We see how Ben killed his father as well as how the others killed the rest of the Dharma Initiative during the purge.

We saw Ben shoot Locke. We saw the giant Dharma grave. We heard Jacob's voice. Rather Locke heard it. Ben didn't. And was it really Jacob or was it the MIB? http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Man_Behind_the_Curtain

It will be facing off against the 15th seed ...In Translation. Jin works for Sun's father Mr. Paik. Jin is a sort of hit-man/enforcer. This makes Jin feel less of a man and it leads to him taking it out on Sun.

Meanwhile, Locke tells the rest of the survivors "We're not the only people on this island and we all know it!"

By the end of the episode the survivors find out that not only being able to speak English really well, she also can rock a bikini. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/In_translation

The Shape Of Things To Come is another second seed from season four. Keamy gives Ben the ultimatum of either giving himself up or he will kill Alex. Ben tells Keamy that Alex doesn't mean anything to him. Keamy kills Alex.

This causes Ben to go under his house where he seems to "call" the smoke monster. Smokie attacks the freighter goons.

At the end of the episode Ben goes to visit Charles Widmore where the two discuss the island, the rules, their daughters, yadda yadda yadda. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Shape_of_Things_to_Come

It will take on the number 15 seed The Greater Good from season 1. In the aftermath of Boone's death Locke finds out too late that when trying to say that someones death was an accident you should probably change out of the blood soaked shirt first. Especially if the blood belongs to the person you supposedly didn't kill. Just sayin'.

In flashbacks we see that Sayid was working with the feds to stop a terrorist ring that old friends of his were involved in.

Sayid tried to talk Shannon out of killing Locke. Was it him talking her out of it, Shannon's horrible aim or something else that saved Locke's life? http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Greater_Good

The Man From Tallahassee finds Ben and Locke face to face once again. Ben is still recovering from surgery. Locke, Kate, and Sayid come to try and break Jack out. Jack doesn't seem to want to go and Locke doesn't really give a hoot about Jack. Locke wants to blow up the sub.

We finally see how Locke was paralyzed. Cooper pushed him through an eighth floor window.

Surprise surprise. Ben has a funny way of saying thank you to Locke for blowing up the submarine. He brings Locke's daddy to the island. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Man_from_Tallahassee

In What Kate Did we are shown just what made Kate a fugitive. In an attempt to free her mother from her step-father and cash in the life insurance policy Kate blows up their house with step daddy inside.

Locke and Mr. Eko discuss the differences between fate and coincidence. Eko shows Locke a piece of film that he found in another hatch. It was the missing part of the orientation video.

Kate Austin stars in the remake of Black Beauty. Or something like that. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/What_Kate_Did

There's No Place Like Home pts. 2 and 3, the season 4 finale is the last two seed. In an attempt to get everyone to the freighter for rescue, the helicopter is riding one too heavy. Sawyer dons his white cowboy hat and takes one for the team.

Desmond tries to get the helicopter away from the freighter as he discovers there is a bomb on the freighter.

At the end of the episode and the season, we see a coffin that holds the remains of John Locke. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/There%27s_No_Place_Like_Home%2C_Parts_2_%26_3

Our final episode of the competition is a 15 seeded episode titled The 23rd Psalm. In it we find out more about Mr. Eko. He is a drug lord trying to convince his brother who is a priest to help him move some heroine.

Mr. Eko, on the island, stares down the smoke monster as it seems to gather information about him in flashes.

Charlie and Mr. Eko go to the drug smugglers plane that Mr. Eko was supposed to be on but his brother was on instead. Making up for his brother leaving home Eko became a priest to fill in. Eko and Charlie burn the plane while reciting the 23rd Psalm giving the episode it's title. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_23rd_Psalm
